ENR Southeast Announces Winners of 2011 Best Projects Awards and ANF Group is one of them!
Cooper City, Florida, September 9, 2011

On September 9, 2011 ENR Southeast announced the winners of the Best Project Awards and ANF Group was awarded Best Healthcare Project for the New Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.
Information about the winning projects will be included in the November issue of ENR Southeast and the teams that built and designed them will be honored at the magazine’s annual Best Projects awards luncheon, to be held November 8th in Orlando.
ANF Group completed construction on the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in July of 2011. This 170,000 sq. ft. Hospital is the first free standing children’s hospital in Broward County.
The new four-story Children’s Hospital showcases an overall theme of “Power of Play” with each floor presenting themes of Sports, Arts, Games and Dreams. The building contains a pediatric ambulatory and laboratory facility, family resource centers, surgical services, a 24-bed inpatient unit, pediatric imaging services, an outpatient hematology/oncology center and a 24-bed inpatient hematology/oncology unit. Connecting to the building is a new Central Energy Plant, which will provide full redundancy of electrical power for seven days in case of a natural disaster and an elevated fully-enclosed walkway joining the New Children’s Hospital and the existing children’s hospital facilities inside Memorial Regional Hospital. The facility is fully hurricane protected with impact windows and walls.
The Hospital will apply for Gold Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) Certification. It has been designed to include environmentally friendly features that will improve performance and efficiency in the use of water, energy and other resources.
