Scope of Work
The Hospital, Civil, Central Energy Plant and Bridge project for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital was Broward County’s first free standing Children’s Hospital. This project consisted of a 4-Story free standing LEED Gold Children’s Hospital. This building is connected to the existing Children’s Hospital Facility at Memorial Regional Hospital via a one hundred foot, 2-story elevated pedestrian bridge. The hospital includes pediatric operating rooms, pediatric radiology with (2)Two MRIs, (2)Two CT Scanners, (2)Two Radiology Rooms, (1)One Nuclear Medicine Room, a pharmacy, outpatient services area, Pre and Post-Operative services with a PACU and Seven Operating Rooms, (24)twenty-four bed pediatric medical surgical unit and a (24)twenty four bed pediatric oncology unit. The oncology unit includes an IV prep, anteroom, chemo hood, two isolation rooms, treatment rooms, eight infusion bays, (3)three exam rooms and the associated support space required.
The Central Plant included (2) 900 Ton 2700 GPM Cooling Towers, (2) 900 Ton 1350 GPM Chillers providing the facility with over 230,000 CFM of cooling. There are (2) 1500KW Bi Fuel Generators with (4) 12,000 gallon fuel tanks. We provided full three dimensional modeling to coordinate the routing of all the new underground piping with the existing piping.
