Alberto “Al” Fernandez is widely recognized as one of the South Florida construction industry’s top executives and business leaders. He began his construction career over 40 years ago as the General Contractor, Qualifying Agent, and Vice President of Construction for the company, until 1992 when he was named President. Most recently in 2024, Al has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ANF Group, Inc. As a founding member of the company, he has been at the forefront of producing the quality of work that ANF Group, Inc. has built its reputation on. As CEO, Al focuses on strengthening the company’s core values and purpose, ensuring that the enterprise remains aligned with executing its vision and strategic objectives. He also plays a crucial role in shaping the company’s future, exploring new business opportunities, enhancing operational efficiency, and maintaining strong relationships with partners.
Al Fernandez is actively involved in numerous industry, civic, and local community organizations. Al serves as an alternate on the Board of Rules and Appeals for Broward County. He was a former board member of Broward Workshop and the Community Foundation of Broward. As well as a board member of the South Florida Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors and the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation Board of Directors. In 2009 Fernandez was a founding member of the Tour de Broward, a charity cycling event benefiting Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital; and throughout the 12 consecutive years as a title sponsor, his philanthropic efforts raised over $6 million for the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation. He further participates as a General for the Boys and Girls Club and actively fundraises for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the American Diabetes Association.
He has further received numerous business-oriented recognitions, among them an Apogee Award from South Florida Business Wealth; recognitions from the South Florida Business Journal, such as a 2023 Power Leader in Real Estate and Top Power Leader in Corporate Philanthropy; and most recently, he was featured in the 2023 Florida 500 edition as one of the most influential executives in Florida published by Florida Trend Magazine.
One thing that I am most proud of is that we have created a family-like atmosphere for all our team members. That is a great achievement and is a testament to why we are where we are today. We had many ups and downs overs the years that made us work harder to achieve our goals, and now we are proud to be recognized by our community and our peers as one of South Florida’s most successful family-owned construction companies.
